4/6 song of the week

This week’s featured song is “You Do It to Yourself” by the band Thames. This song is fresh off of their new album “Spotlight”. The 80’s beats meet old school Arctic Monkey’s to create the perfect quarantine jams to help pass the time. I catch myself listening to this song early in the morning to help me wake up and get motivated to start the day.

3/9 Song of the Week

“Saguaro” by The Slow Boys makes me feel like I am in a different time. The young band channels an old school feel with their timeless music styles. This song makes me wish for summer and warm nights at the beach. Despite the sad lyrics, I find myself dancing around my room to this in between classes. This would pair perfectly with a late night drive and some close friends.

3/2 Song of the Week

This is another song by a young, local band that transports me to another time. The public has such a vintage sound despite their young age. The gritty sound paired with a smooth beat makes me feel like I’m in the 70’s-80’s. I feel like this is the kind of music my mom would have listened to during her young, rebellious years. This song would be perfect for a coming of age film, or even just a late night in the park with friends. I highly recommend adding this song to your favorite playlist.

Syla is an up and coming music star in Saint Louis. Her latest single “Lunar Soul” features dreamy vocals backed by a classic R&B type beat. This is the perfect song to pair with some late night studying. I find myself listening to this song when I want to wind down for the evening. You’re definitely going to want to add this to your chill playlist. Let me know what you think in the comment section!
